Ryan Woolley

Ryan Woolley

Ryan has over 20 years experience in complex insurance claim consulting and is CEO of Insurance Claims Africa. Ryan started working as a Public Adjuster while studying and then spent 4 years at Ernst & Young (EY) Forensic Advisory Services. In 2006, he became the practice leader and principal consultant for an international forensic accounting practice in South Africa, which specialised in insurance claim preparation. Ryan became CEO of Insurance Claims Africa in 2014 and is actively involved in the claims that we assist on, particularly with his experience in the manufacturing, hospitality, mining and financial sectors.

Denver Furmage

Denver Furmage

Denver qualified as a CA(SA) in 2001 after completing his articles with EY, where he worked in its forensic division before briefly venturing into commerce. Denver joined Insurance Claims Africa on a full-time basis in 2007, and specialises in property damage and business interruption claims. He has managed many large losses in the manufacturing, tourism, retail and textile industries.

Mike Gaines

Mike Gaines

Mike introduced the concept of public adjusting to the Southern African insurance market over 30 years ago. He originally studied law in South Africa before joining a loss adjusting company in Durban. Interest in the public adjusting field drove him to seek experience in the USA, and on his return to South Africa, Mike started his own public adjusting business, the first of its kind in the region. This business has grown to become Insurance Claims Africa in its current form. Mike is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is regarded as the leading authority in the field of claim preparation on behalf of the Policyholder.

Brett Eaton

Brett Eaton

Brett obtained his BCom Accounting (Cum Laude) Honours from the University of Johannesburg in 2005. He completed his articles at Deloitte in 2008 and qualified as a CA(SA). He continued his studies on a part-time basis and completed a law degree, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Brett has been involved in loss quantification, insurance claim resolution and litigation support since 2009. During this time, he acted as the primary consultant on assignments involving the quantification and investigation of financial losses for a variety of clients, including major international mining and manufacturing companies. Brett has assisted clients in resolving insurance matters throughout Africa and the Middle East.

Chad Mackenzie

Chad McKenzie

Chad attended California State University, Bakersfield, completing his undergraduate degree before returning to South Africa and completing his studies to become a CA(SA). After qualifying, he spent three years with a loss adjusting firm assisting on complex claims. Chad joined Insurance Claims Africa in 2018 and has been involved in resolving substantial losses in the agricultural, manufacturing and retail industries. He assists on property damage and business interruption claims, as well as fraud and fidelity losses.

Marc Lewis

Marc Lewis

Marc is a CA(SA) who joined Insurance Claims Africa in 2017, bringing additional expertise to the team. Before joining Insurance Claims Africa, Marc worked as a financial manager and credit insurance specialist. He also worked in the energy and medical research sectors in London. Since joining Insurance Claims Africa, Marc has worked as the primary consultant on a wide range of complex and high profile business interruption claims. In addition to business interruption, Marc’s financial background has also proved valuable in formulating fidelity / employee dishonesty, stock and property damage claims.
